: Abstract :
InteractMe PC was idealized from the knowledge gained in the field of interactive programming (Max MSP/Jitter) and Performance. Rather than used into a scenic space or a gallery of contemporary art, InteractMe PC was applied in the context ArtAbilitation during occupational therapy sessions.
The implementation of InteractMe PC was done in two studies with the collaboration of subjects with different clinical-functional diagnostics. The common feature between all individuals was the limitation of the movements of the upper limbs. So, during the research, the challenge that this application attempted to solve was the stimulation for the execution, control and coordination of movements, which are necessary for the realization of simple tasks and activities of daily living of each subject – making the application as a complement to the physical rehabilitation in the institutional space (with the support of a professional) as well as domestic (with or without support from a family member).
Finally, after the ecological study – building and testing the InteractMe PC in occupational therapy sessions – I successfully hit the targets proposed by the technical team that accompanied the investigation.
InteractMe PC is a product that does not require many associated costs, since all the institutions have a laptop with webcam and they only need to install the Max Runtime (free) to open the application.
In conclusion, to ensure quality of living the InteractMe PC can be seen as an added value not only in institutional and family budget as well as a complement to the physical rehabilitation of the individual for the execution of tasks and activities of daily living.
